Cabinetry and storage
Custom laundry cabinetry is the biggest variable. A simple run of melamine cabinets with a laminate benchtop starts around $4,000 to $8,000. Plumbing and waterproofing

Layout and compliance
The most effective laundry layouts combine a continuous benchtop for folding, front loader access at a comfortable height, and tall storage for cleaning supplies and linens.
